Queen of Peace Girls’ Primary school was established in 2013 as the first Catholic School in the Diocese of Lodwar. In line with the desire of the Diocese to promote the education of the girl child in Turkana, the vision of the school is to give quality education, good Christian formation and instill discipline so that our children will get the best and be very focused in their lives.
Another important feature of the school is the emphasis on holistic formation. We want our pupils to be all round pupils. We want them to excel in both spirit and mind and at the same time well formed in human and social values. We want them to grow in Christian virtues so that they may be better persons, pleasing to God in all aspects of their lives.
Under the guidance of our able Religious Sisters who are running the school; the excellent teachers we have and with the collaboration of the Priests who have keen interest in the school, I believe Queen of Peace Girls Primary school is becoming a good school, loved by the Pupils and trusted by the Parents.
I wish to thank all those who have made Queen of Peace what it is today. I want to thank our benefactors and partners who have done a lot for the school. In a very special way I want to thank Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish in Dublin Ireland who gave us the first push and have continued supporting the school. Prince Ludwig of Bavaria and his friends for contributing money to build up most of the structures, Friends of Turkana from New York and everyone who has supported this school. With God’s help and all the support we have, Queen of Peace will bear many fruits in the lives of our girls and the community at large.
